If you weren't able to attend the Learning Day with Paul Borden in the Fresno area in October, be sure to take advantage of a rare second-chance opportunity: Dr. Borden happened to have a January date open and Hughson United Methodist Church grabbed it!
The church will host "Developing Healthy Congregations," a Learning Day with Dr. Paul Borden, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with registration at 8 a.m.)
Thanks to funding from Central Church Extension Society the church was able to keep the registration fees minimal in hopes of providing access for as many people as possible from each congregation. Cost is just $10, payable at the door, which includes seminar materials and lunch.
In addition to currently serving as the Director of Growing Healthy Churches and as the Executive Pastor of the American Baptist Churches of the West, Dr. Borden has served as the Director of the Teaching Church Network, and is the author of Direct Hit, Hitting the Bulls Eye, and Assaulting the Gates, all of which address the realities of today's church and the turn-around strategies required for vital, mission-focused congregations.
Hughson UMC pastor, the Rev. Denice Leslie, says, "His track record in helping to turn around the declining American Baptist congregations speaks for itself. [So] Come, learn, lead!"
Register by emailing email@example.com or sending names of registrants to Hughson UMC, P.O. Box 129, Hughson, CA 95326. (Please note that churches are responsible for registration costs for any of their congregation members who register but fail to attend, or who cancel later than Jan. 3.)
Hughson UMC is located at the corner of Fox and 6th Streets in Hughson – which is five miles east of Ceres. Plan your trip using the handy Google Maps feature on the Hughson UMC web page!
