Wilderness Leadership Experience Offered in Oregon-Idaho

November 17, 2010

These challenging times call for a new kind of church leader, and you can be that leader! The Rev. Richard Fuss of Albany First UMC in the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference invites you to join in a true wilderness expedition next September in the heart of the Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness. Led by the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and geared especially for church leaders, this canoe expedition includes NOLS' most complete leadership development curriculum – the same model used when they train space station astronauts and shuttle crews.

NOLS courses are designed to develop resilient, confident leaders: just what the church needs! At the same time, this course is designed to be accessible for most people. You do not need to be in great shape or an avid outdoors-person to participate.
