Sierra Service Project Will Launch 'Weekend of Service' in Sacramento in January

November 11, 2010

Sierra Service Project (SSP) will offer three faith-rich service weekends in Sacramento, starting in January 2011. These weekends will combine fun fellowship with youth from other youth groups with a challenging, hands-on service project and a strong focus on understanding how we can live out our faith in the world around us.

Initially, SSP is partnering with two different local organizations to provide hands-on service work. Work projects will involve many of the usual SSP skills: carpentry, replacing flooring, wall replacement, and painting. The cost per person is only $75, which includes food, lodging, a custom T-shirt, and project planning and supervision.
