A day-long seminar for faith leaders and spiritual caregivers on end-of-life decision-making and care, titled "Partners in Caring," will be offered on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Sierra Health Foundation Conference Center in Sacramento.
This event brings health professionals together with clergy, chaplains, faith community nurses, Stephen Ministers, and other health ministers and spiritual caregivers – to discuss life-sustaining treatment and advance directives, information around suffering and pain management, and how to facilitate communication and be present with the dying while addressing the spiritual needs of patients and families.
The cost of the day's seminar is $60 per individual ($50 each, if more than one person attends from a given congregation or organization). Cost includes a light breakfast, lunch, and program materials (including PowerPoint presentations).
The event is sponsored by the Compassionate Care Alliance of the Greater Sacramento Region and the Center for Healthcare Decisions (CHCD).
