Celebrate Laity Sunday on October 17

October 07, 2010

In our membership vows, we promise that we will support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Just what does "presence" mean? And how can we possibly transform the world through it?

Laity Sunday is a special Sunday established by the General Conference to be observed on the third Sunday in October. Laity Sunday focuses on the celebration of the ministry of all lay Christians. October 17 is the date established for Laity Sunday 2010, a United Methodist celebration of the ministry of all lay Christians as their lives are empowered for ministry by the Holy Spirit.
