Earth Justice Ministries Director Is Stepping Down

June 03, 2010

The Rev. Sharon Delgado is preparing to step down as Executive Director of Earth Justice Ministries. As of July 1, she will transition from her Appointment to Extension Ministry with the organization to a Transitional Leave, and then to retirement in 2011.

However, Delgado's environmental justice ministry will continue! She will continue to carry the message of God's love and desire for justice for all creation through pulpit supply, writing, teaching, speaking, and leading workshops and retreats.

Delgado, a frequent contributor to Response, the Magazine for United Methodist Women, has developed programs for the United Methodist Women's Program Book for the past three years – including the 2011 program, "Making Peace with Mother Earth." Her latest project is a program that she has developed which introduces the Bishops' Statement, "A Renewed Creation: Call to Hope and Action." She recently offered the program in workshop format in St. Louis at the United Methodist Women's Assembly.

Rev. Delgado and her husband, Guarionex Delgado, founded Earth Justice Ministries in 1995. The Rev. Donald Baldwin will succeed her as Executive Director of the organization.
