Annual Conference Session Updates

May 27, 2010

The Bishop's Call to Clergy Session has been posted on the 2010 Annual Conference Session page on the Conference website at Just click on "Annual Conference Session," the first item under "Quick Links" on the right side of the Home Page.

An updated version of "Part I - Items 1-16 / Conference Recommendations and Resolutions" has been posted to that page. The update includes the sponsor information for Item 3 (Proposal to Direct-Bill Active Clergy Pension Costs), which is the only change to the original.
A new supplement to aid in understanding of Item 3 has been posted to the Annual Conference Session Resources page. The worksheet, provided by the Conference Board of Pensions Office, gives examples of direct billed pension costs per fulltime pastor, 2010-2012.
Please take note of the Spanish-language translation of an outline of Bishop Brown's "Rethink Conference" address, posted to the Annual Conference Session Resources page and to the Rethink Conference page (under "Quick Links" on the Home Page). A Korean language translation is being prepared and will be posted as soon as it's available.
Here is clarification of some of the information in Going Electronic – How We're 'Rethinking ACS' This Year (5/20). We indeed will offer an electronic version of the First Day Packet this year. However, some material still will be provided in printed form.
Included in the print version of the First Day Packet will be:
·         Agenda
·         Budget
·         Section Assignments
·         CFA Apportionment information sheet
·         Report on 2009 Recommendations
·         Cokesbury coupons
Included in the "E-First Day Packet" will be material such as:
·         Revised Items
·         Blood Drive flyer
·         Mealtime Events list
·         News Announcements in English and Spanish.
Other material will be distributed by the pages.
Roll call cards and name tags will be picked up at the registration table as usual, along with the print version of the First Day Packet.
If you have not pre-registered, you will go upstairs to Room 305 (the Annual Conference Office) to register when you arrive at the Sacramento Convention Center. If you have pre-registered, please visit the table in the Convention Center lobby.
Please remember to download (and print, if you are not taking your laptop to ACS) the E-First Day Packet.
Going Electronic – How We're 'Rethinking ACS' This Year contains other news of importance, including information about live streaming, and the way that announcements will be handled this year at ACS (the Daily Connection will not be printed).
