Want to learn to speak Spanish or to improve your fluency? Sign up for a Spanish Language Immersion Experience, July 18-August 7 in Puebla, Mexico, sponsored by California-Nevada United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.
The program is hosted by the Methodist University of Puebla and consists of three weeks of intensive study, including four-hour classes Monday-Friday at the university's language school. Participants will be housed with local families from the Puebla Methodist Church, for thorough immersion in the language and culture of the area – and will take part in UMVIM service projects of a connectional and/or light construction nature on Saturdays.
Cost for the three-week program, including course tuition, lodging at the local church, and meals, will be approximately $700. The cost of airfare is additional.
The team will not be booking flights as a group. Volunteers are welcome to travel with the team leader (on United) if they choose, or may book their own flights to suit their personal travel needs.
