Congregational consultant Karen McClintock, author of Healthy Disclosure: Solving Communication Quandaries in Congregations, will lead a "Healing the Wounded Congregation" workshop Saturday, May 1, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Berkeley.
Both laity and clergy are encouraged to attend. The workshop has been approved for .5 CEU credit in Professional Competency.
Participants will learn intervention strategies for congregational crises such as a pastor's sudden illness or death, a fire or natural disaster, cases of sexual abuse or embezzlement, or other traumatic events in the life of a parish.
Rev. Dr. McClintock will employ lecture, case studies, and PowerPoint presentations to equip participants to respond to congregational crises with compassion and clarity.
Cost is $68 for the day, which includes lunch. Second and third persons from the same congregation will be admitted for half price.
