BOOM Schedules Equipping for Ministry Seminar for Early June

March 24, 2010

The Training Services Committee of the California-Nevada Annual Conference Board of Ordained Ministry is sponsoring an "Equipping for Ministry" seminar, June 9-10 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Sacramento.

The church is located at 6201 Spruce Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95841.
Equipping for Ministry is for all clergy within the Conference – but especially those who are working toward Commisioning/Ordination, since it is a requirement for candidates in the process.
"It is a time of learning about ourselves and gifts for ministry through various inventories, activities, and discussion, using 'Equipped for Every Good Work' from the GBOD [General Board of Discipleship]," says the Rev. Mark Buenafe, a member of the committee.
There also will be discussions in the area of intercultural ministry.
"We are encouraged in Scripture to discover and use the spiritual gifts God has given us," Buenafe says. "This event will whet your interest in intentional ways of realizing that giftedness, and its application and integration in the life of the church and community."
