The ship carrying a John Deere tractor, Ford pick-up truck, and assorted farm implements and supplies donated to West Angola by the California-Nevada Annual Conference was scheduled to dock at Port Angola on Thursday, March 18.
Relocation Benefits, which handled the shipment, reports that it could take five days or more for the cargo to clear customs and the farm equipment to be on its way to the Agricultural Training Farm near Porto Quipiri, north of Luanda.
The company will advise us of the shipment's progress and we will keep you updated by way of the Conference website and the Instant Connection e-newsletter.
The equipment was purchased from dealerships in Georgia with the proceeds of the 2009 Conference Offering and other donations. On January 14 of this year members of the Missions Committee from First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro, Georgia helped crate and load the equipment for shipment. The cargo was shipped from the Port of Savannah.
