Bishop's Award Nominations Due by March 30
February 18, 2010
March 30 is the deadline for nominations for the Bishop's Award, presented during Annual Conference Session in June.
The award is given to a lay person who has demonstrated "outstanding service" in his or her local church and beyond the local church - whether in the Conference, the General Church, the local community, or beyond.
In a letter sent to clergy, district offices, and lay leaders, Bishop Warner H. Brown, Jr. invites the lay and clergy of the Conference "to lift up people deserving this recognition."
Nominations (no more than two pages in length) should be sent directly to the Bishop and should include: "a short narrative on how the person is living as a disciple engaged in transforming the world," and should cite "the qualities that bring the nominee forth as a leader among us." Again, the nominee must have served both within and beyond the local church.
The Bishop's Award will not be announced until Annual Conference Session.

Send nominations by March 30 to: Bishop Warner H. Brown, Jr., P.O. Box 980250, West Sacramento, CA 95798.
