Information Regarding Availability of Continuing Education Grants

The Board of Ordained Ministry provides grants to clergy who are participating in approved continuing education classes and events. The board has approved grants of up $400 per calendar year for each clergy person. In addition, the board has limited individual grants (to $100 per CEU). For instance, if you take a class that offers 1.5 CEUs, you would be eligible for $150.

You may take more than one class per year and receive grants that total no more than $400 per calendar year.

The guidelines and forms are online at www.cnumc.org/ceu.

Information Regarding Availability of Supportive Service Grants

The Board of Ordained Ministry will change the way it handles Supportive Service Grants for clergy and family members, beginning January 1, 2010.

If you have a health plan that provides for outpatient counseling (most do), you would not be eligible for these funds. Supportive Service grants will be available to those who do not have adequate insurance to cover outpatient counseling needs. In such a case the grant will cover one-half of the counseling expense.

In addition, each family will have a limit of $1,500 per calendar year.

The guidelines and forms will be online soon at www.cnumc.org/ceu.
