Young Adult Missionary Commissioned, Assigned to California-Nevada

Bethany Amey, a native of Turnersville, New Jersey, was commissioned on Tuesday (October 13) as a short-term, young adult missionary (US-2 program) of The United Methodist Church and assigned to the Asian Women's Resource Center (Gum Moon) in San Francisco, in the California-Nevada Annual Conference.

The commissioning took place at the annual meeting of the General Board of Global Ministries in Stamford, Connecticut and for the first time, the service of commissioning was broadcast live on the Internet. (See related story 'Live From Stanford: The Commissioning'.)
