Make November 5 'Thank a Youth Worker Day'

October 09, 2009

Who will you thank on November 5? It's been designated "Thank a Youth Worker Day" (TAYWD), when communities and organizations are to join in an international day of celebrating and honoring youth workers.

According to the National Collaboration for Youth, "A youth worker is someone who works with and on behalf of children and youth to facilitate their personal, social, and educational development, [and enabling] them to gain a voice, influence, and place in society as they make the transition from dependence to independence."
The ways in which to say "Thank You" are endless. Post flyers and posters in your communities, host a TAYWD event, distribute orange ribbons to supporters, employees, participants . . .
Spread the word!
