Churches: Do you know that you are entitled to 10 free subscriptions to Interpreter magazine (in addition to those that go to your pastors)? Do you know that almost half of all churches (nationwide) don't send in all 10? Don't let your free subscriptions go to waste!
Interpreter is the award-winning ministry magazine for lay and clergy leaders in local United Methodist churches across the United States. Published six times each year by United Methodist Communications, each issue includes a cover package of features providing ideas and resources corresponding to an area of interest or concern to local churches.
Topics addressed on a regular basis include:
· Technology in the Church
· Developing New Lay and Clergy Leaders
· Starting New Congregations and Revitalizing Existing Ones
· Ministry with the Poor
· Global Health
Other articles frequently address spiritual growth, worship and special days in The United Methodist Church, missions and outreach, Christian education, ministry with different age groups, and other avenues of ministry and mission that local churches can do alone or as part of the United Methodist connection.
Popular departments include "It Worked for Us" (success stories from local churches) and "Church Rethought," in which United Methodists answer the "What if …?" question.
Interpreter is enrolling now for 2010. The World Service Fund pays for five print and five digital subscriptions for each church's lay leadership, and enrolling is a simple online or mail-in process. (Pastors should NOT be listed on a church's enrollment form. However, any pastor who is not receiving a print copy of Interpreter should contact the magazine and the folks there will get a subscription started for him or her.)
