You Are Invited to Extravagant Generosity and More!

September 11, 2009

Extravagant Generosity - how do we speak and preach about it to encourage long term transformation in our congregations? And for church leaders doing the Vital Signs and Five Practices planning, how will we preach about Extravagant Generosity this fall and next spring?

Never fear - two great two-part courses are coming up soon to give you all the resources you need!
Each course is a two-Saturday affair.
You have two choices: September 19 and 26 at Auburn Pioneer United Methodist Church, or October 10 and 17 at Reno First UMC.
On Sept. 19 and Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Betsy Schwarzentraub (Conference Minister of Faith and Generosity) will lead a workshop on "Preaching Extravagant Generosity, Firstfruits Living, and for Legacy Sunday." Then on Sept. 26 Barbara Smith, pastor of Auburn Pioneer UMC, and Blanche Farnam, Nevada-Sierra District Lay Speaking chair, will teach a Part 2: Preaching Practicum. On Oct. 17, Tom Butler, pastor at Sparks UMC, and Kelly Dobrovolny, Ponderosa Cluster Lay Leader, will lead the Part 2: Preaching Practicum.
To register, fill out the registration form and email or mail it in. You don’t have to be from a certain district to attend. (Oh, yes - and this also qualifies as an Advanced Lay Speaking course.)
Everyone is welcome!
