Two Opportunities to Hear John Nilsen Play This Month

September 11, 2009

John Nilsen, the award-winning Oregon pianist, is touring Northern California this month and is scheduled to perform at two churches in the California-Nevada Annual Conference.

Nilsen will play at Wesley United Methodist Church in Palo Alto Saturday, September 19 at 8 p.m. in a fundraiser for the Ecumenical Hunger Program of East Palo Alto. He has appeared with such luminaries as Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, and Kenny G., and is known for creating a distinct level of intimacy with his audience. His concerts of contemporary music are inspired by nature.
Wesley UMC is located at 470 Cambridge, near El Camino, in Palo Alto.
A free will offering of $10 is encouraged.
For more information call the church at 650.327.2092.
Nilsen also will be in concert at Brentwood UMC in Brentwood, California on Sunday, September 20 at 4 p.m., performing both original compositions and his own arrangements of well-known hymns.
Here, too, the concert is free, but an offering will be taken.
Brentwood UMC is located at 809 2nd Street, Brentwood, CA 94513.
