Volunteers Invited to 2009 Honduras Mission Summit in Kentucky

June 24, 2009

The International Conference on the United Methodist Church in Honduras takes place September 10-12 at Christ Church UMC in Louisville, Kentucky - and volunteers from California-Nevada Annual Conference churches are invited to take part.

The United Methodist Mission Church in Honduras is a community of Christ-seeking men, women, and children from throughout Honduras who have built 14 growing congregations. Each community of faith is engaged in a variety of ministries, reaching out to neighbors who are living with the challenges of poverty. These ministries are supported, in part, by North American volunteers and with support from United Methodist churches in the United States.

Attendees at the 2009 Honduras Mission Summit will hear from Bishop Elias Galvan, Honduran pastors and leaders, and experienced work and medical team leaders from United States churches, to explore ways that U.S. churches can work together more closely to help strengthen the Methodist Mission churches of Honduras.

Registration $80, which includes meals. A special conference rate is available at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne. Deadline to register and to receive the discounted room rate is August 19.
