Scholarship Opportunity for Worship Artists, Pastors

June 05, 2009

The United Methodist General Board of Discipleship has a limited number of scholarships available for the Biennial Convocation of The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts, July 13-16 in Orlando, Florida.

IMAGINATION 2009 is for pastors, musicians, artists, dancers, dramatists - and focuses on large group experiences (worship services, concerts, and plenary sessions) to awaken the imagination within, to create more effective and inspired worship for our communities of faith.

In addition, new "Imagination Stations" will provide opportunities for all to work in smaller sessions on specific topics.

The concurrent Preaching from the Center (SM) track makes this a perfect opportunity for church staffs to attend the event together.

A limited number of $260 scholarships are available for Annual Conference worship committees, worship related conference staff members, leaders who design continuing education events in preaching, and leaders who teach lay speakers' school. The scholarships may be applied to the Preaching from the Center (SM) event, also.

For more information about scholarships, contact California-Nevada Annual Conference Director of Connectional Ministry, Linda Wiberg, at or 916.374.1517.
