Film by UM Pastor's Oscar-Winning Cousin to Be Screened in San Francisco

June 05, 2009

A cousin of the Rev. Archer Summers, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Palo Alto, California, is director and producer of a new film, Who Does She Think She Is?, to be screened in San Francisco this month.

Pamela Tanner Boll's film focuses on the challenge for women artists to balance their calling as artists with other aspects of their lives, such as motherhood, Summers says.

He adds, "The film is a provocative documentary about what it means to be prophetic in a world that often trivializes women's contributions to our spiritual and economic wellbeing."

Tanner Boll was executive producer for the Academy Award-winning documentary, Born Into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids.

Who Does She Think She Is? is at the Red Vic Movie House on Wednesday, June 10 at 2:00, 7:15, and 9:15 p.m., and Thursday, June 11 at 7:15 and 9:15 p.m.

Tanner Boll will take questions from the audience following the 7:15 screenings on both days, and after the matinee on Wednesday.
