Florida A & M Looking for Female African-American Students

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is offering an outstanding opportunity for African-American women entering college in the fall of 2009.


Dr. Jason Black is the Principal Investigator of a recently awarded $552,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant titled African-American Women in Computer Science (AAWCS). The AAWCS scholarship program, designed to address the absence of African-American women in the field of computer technology by providing financial, academic, and professional support, provides scholarships from $4000 to $10,000 per year for 19 female African-American students selected as AAWCS Scholars enrolled in Computer and Information Sciences (CIS), Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.


The application deadline is August 1 for fall enrollment, or December 1 for spring enrollment.
