June Retirement Party Planned for Pioneer UMC Pastor John Broad

May 21, 2009

Pioneer United Methodist Church in Auburn, California is hosting a retirement party for the Rev. John Broad on Sunday, June 28 at 5 p.m. - and extends an open invitation to members of the California-Nevada Annual Conference, to attend.

The party - a potluck - will be held in Fellowship Hall. The church's United Methodist Men will provide the main course, so RSVPs will be appreciated, for purposes of planning.

Attendees will be asked to talk about Rev. Broad's career - and well-wishers who can't be present are encouraged to write a little note to him, which will be read at the party.

RSVPs and letters may be sent to Frank Sweeney, c/o Pioneer UMC, 1338 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603.

Rev. Broad will retire July 1. His first appointment, in 1971, was as Associate at Los Gatos UMC. He also served at Freedom, Wasco, San Jose Willow Glen, Lemoore, and Escalon churches before being appointed to Pioneer UMC in 2003.
