Register by Friday for Immigration Advocacy Workshop

Interested in - and passionate about - immigration issues? You're invited to be a part of a growing movement in the California-Nevada Annual Conference!

 

Register by this Friday, April 24, to ensure receipt of workshop materials - and attend the Immigration Task Force Spring Training Event, Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Laurel United Methodist Church in Oakland.

 

It will equip you to be a lead trainer, or part of a team of trainers, in your district, local church, and/or ethnic caucus so that you can share the information from the training day. 

 

This includes:

  • Know Your Rights Training - what to do in an immigration raid and how to make family and individual plans in case of an emergency
  • Advocacy - how to be a FAITHful ally and citizen and make a difference in your community
  • Living and Working Inside the law - the importance of obtaining a TIN, car insurance, car registration, etc.

Again, please register by Friday, April 24 to ensure there are enough materials for all participants.

 

Lunch will be provided. A donation basket will be available at the registration table on the day of the event, for those who wish to contribute to the wider work of the task force.
