UMVIM Trip to Fiji Re-Scheduled

April 16, 2009

The California-Nevada Annual Conference's Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) trip to Fiji has been re-scheduled for August 11-25, 2009.

The trip to the Fijian village of Vatukarasa will include a time of celebration prior to attending the Fijian Annual Conference in Suva. Working alongside Fijian youth, team members will serve in construction (tiling floors and painting the UM District Superintendent home), teaching, sewing, and medical support.

If his schedule permits, Bishop Warner H. Brown, Jr. plans to visit Fiji and attend the Fijian Annual Conference in late August.

Are you called to become a team member? Do you want to help build a bond of friendship that will encourage faith and hope? UMVIM invites you to join in this simple, authentic ways.

The approximate cost for participants - including airfare, local transportation, food, program incidentals, lodging, insurance, and materials fee - is $1800.

Not able to go but want to make a difference? Contribute by donating supplies! Due to the extensive damage caused by a January storm and flooding, many supplies are needed.

For more information, contact one of the team leaders, Judy Church (209.522.2565) or Virisila Batiratu (916.256.9599).
