A Tribute to Ted Virts

April 16, 2009

The Delta District Committee on District Superintendency invites you to join in celebrating the ministry of the Rev. Ted Virts, Delta District Superintendent, on Saturday, May 16, 11–3 p.m., at the Oak Park Regional Park in Stockton, California.

In March, Bishop Warner H. Brown, Jr. announced a plan for superintendency restructuring and
appointed Virts to the new position of Conference Superintendent, with a focused responsibility for leadership development, new and revitalized congregations, and supervision.

The celebration of Virts' six years as Delta District Superintendent will be a day of "Ted's favorites," featuring some of his favorite music, favorite poems, and favorite foods. Take a dish to pass and share in the appreciation of his ministry (with special emphasis on the impact of the Side-by-Side Ministry with the Homeless).

All program expenses will be covered by the District. Donations and contributions will go to Side-by-Side Ministries. Make checks payable to CA-NV Conference of the UMC and send to the Delta District Office, P.O. Box 980250, West Sacramento, CA 95798.

Oak Park Regional Park is located at 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton, CA (directly east of I-5 at Eight Mile Rd. exit). Parking is $5, with a $1 discount available through the Delta District Office if paid in advance.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP. Contact Cindy Buna in the Delta District Office at 916.374.1501 to RSVP and to receive your parking discount.
