New Diana Butler Bass Book Is Available

April 01, 2009

The latest release by Diana Butler Bass is in the bookstores. A People's History of Christianity: The Other Side of the Story, from HarperCollins Publishers, is "the story of the grassroots movements that have kept Jesus's message of social justice alive for 2,000 years."

Butler Bass, an independent scholar and speaker specializing in American religion and culture, holds a PhD in religious studies from Duke University. The author of seven books, including the bestselling Christianity for the Rest of Us, she has crafted here "a beautifully written history," according to Take This Bread author, Sara Miles - while Philip Jenkins, author of The Lost History of Christianity, says, "It would be difficult to imagine anyone reading this book without finding some new insight or inspiration, some new unexpected testimony to the astonishing breadth of Christianity through the centuries."

A fitting gift (for oneself or someone else), this Easter season, A People's History of Christianity is available from Cokesbury, Amazon (hardcover and Kindle editions), and through, as well as many independent bookstores and at major retailers everywhere.
