Register by April 3 to Attend Planning Forum for Cultural Competence Summit

March 26, 2009

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is hosting the 16th Annual (Statewide) Cultural Competence Summit, November 17-18, 2009. This two-day Summit will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, California.

This year's theme - "Embracing Social Justice and Equity to Build Healthier Communities" - is meant to unite service providers, community members and leaders, policymakers, consumers and family members, and others to address issues of the impact of culture and language on health disparities.

If you are interested in helping define and shape the Summit, you are invited to attend a Community Planning Forum, Friday, April 10, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the San Mateo Garden Center at 605 Parkside Way in San Mateo. This is an opportunity for you to offer input and feedback about what you'd like to see at the Summit. Lunch will be provided.

RSVP required by Friday, April 3.
