Conference Offering Announced
The Conference Offering to be taken at this year's Annual Conference Session will go to support the West Angola Tractor Project. The offering is designated specifically for the purchase of a tractor, disc plow, and cultivator in support of the West Angola Conference's agricultural training project.
Donations received beyond the cost of the equipment will be used to buy trees, quality seed stock, and hand tools.
The equipment will be instrumental in getting the planned Agricultural Training Farm up and running. The farm is to be located near the village of Porto Quipiri, just 75 kilometers north of capital city Luanda. It will, at the outset, provide jobs locally and increase food abundance and availability - and in the longer term serve as a demonstration farm to teach improved agricultural practices to the surrounding community and beyond. Once crop production and markets are established, the food and the profits from the agricultural production will provide financial support for the missions and ministries of the United Methodist Church.
