'Coming Fully Alive As You Age' DVD Kits Now Available on Loan

December 05, 2008

The Older Adult Ministry Council of the California-Nevada Annual Conference has purchased multiple copies of the Coming Fully Alive as You Age DVD kits from Senior New Ways, one for each District and two for the Ecumenical Media Resource Center.

Coming Fully Alive as You Age explores the positives of aging and teaches ways to have a healthier, happier life in later years. The DVD, accompanied by an easy-to-follow User Guide, covers "Finding Meaning in Life," "Being Fully Alive: Body, Mind and Spirit," "Aging as a Spiritual Journey," and "The Uplifting Power of Humor."
The "Keepers of the Kits" are as follows:
Rev. Paul Harkness, Castro Valley UMC, revphh@comcast.net
Ruth Reynolds, Sacramento St. Mark's UMC, ruthbranch@sbcglobal.net
Judy Gross, Clovis MUMC, judygross@att.net
Pat Sanborn, FUMC Santa Rosa, pat.sanborn@fumcsantarosa.org
Marilyn Wilson, Grass Valley UMC, wilson3417@att.net
Rev. Judith Pruess-Mellow, Senior New Ways in Los Altos, judithpm@seniornewways.org
Rosemary Landry, Grace Yuba City UMC, landryros@netzero.net
Rhonda Canale, Media Resource Center, San Jose, emrcvideos@aol.com
Please put the name of the Kit Keeper into your district newsletters and emails so that more people may avail themselves of this resource. Checkouts are for two months at a time—giving the user time to review the kit, plan a one-month class, and offer the class.
Each class can run from an hour to an hour and a half (the longer time is preferable). Any person experienced in teaching and small group facilitation should be able to lead the course.
For more information contact Judith Pruess-Mellow, Executive Director, Senior New Ways, at judithpm@seniornewways.org or 650-209-1119, or visit the Senior New Ways website at www.seniornewways.org.
