St. Paul UMC Celebrates 50th

December 16, 2014

In November, Saint Paul United Methodist Church celebrated its golden anniversary.  It began in 1963 when the California-Nevada Conference decided to start a new church in Newark, CA.  Saint Paul was chartered in November 1964.  After moving to numerous locations, the church relocated to its permanent home at the corner of Lowry and Alvarado Blvd. in Fremont.  The land was purchased in 1984 in partnership with the Islamic Society of the East Bay.  Fifty years after they started, and twenty years after the completion of the current facility, Saint Paul is under construction again currently building the Virginia Maniti Williams Ministry Center.  The additional 10,000 square feet will house the Precious Time Preschool, Kingdom Kids and adult Sunday school classes and meeting rooms.
