The United Methodist Association of Communicators is seeking applicants for two 2008 Helping Hand Scholarships. The first scholarship will be awarded to a United Methodist working in the communications industry at the local church level. The second will go to a Central Conference Communicator working at the local church, district, or conference level.
The Helping Hand Scholarships are offered in recognition of the commitment and work of UMAC’s past president Dawn Hand, and provide an up close and personal look at theological and practical perspectives of convergent communications. Recipients will have an opportunity to develop partnerships and relationships by aligning with more than 200 professional agencies, conferences, districts, and local church communicators – and to experience cutting edge technology.
Deadline for application submission is July 31, 2008 for Central Conferences and August 15, 2008 for the United States. Volunteers and paid staff communicators serving the United Methodist Church are encouraged to apply.
