Church Video Licenses Sent to Subscribers
Video licenses for 2008-2009 purchased as part of the California-Nevada Conference's "umbrella" licensing program with Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) were emailed this week to all participating churches.
The Conference plan enables Cal-Nevada churches to obtain the license at a substantial savings over purchasing it on their own. And this year, as an added benefit, churches with a CVLI license have access to a new feature designed to help those in ministry use videos more effectively – and it's FREE with every standard membership.
The new resource is access to an online service called ScreenVue that provides more than 1,200 sermon illustration ideas using major motion pictures that the pastor rents or buys. Each scene idea includes a movie summary, scene summary, themes, Scripture references, and insights and suggestions for using the scene in an effective way. It's a research tool designed to work hand in hand with the CVLI license to help the pastor find the perfect movie illustration to enhance his or her next sermon or class.
Has your church taken advantage of the program? If not, you are welcome and encouraged to do so this year. It's not too late!
Go to "Church Video License" under "Resources" on the green navigation bar at the top of the Home Page at cnumc.org to view an up-to-date list of churches that have renewed or added coverage for the April 3, 2008 to April 2, 2009 year.
If your church was not licensed last year it may be added to the Conference license by sending a check for $168 ($169 if a childcare facility needs to be included in the coverage), payable to the Cal-Nevada Conference, to the
