UM Healthy Marriage Project Encourages Attendance at SMART Marriage Conference

Marriage is intended to be a lifelong journey and a GPS system is definitely needed to navigate turbulent waters and avoid rocky shoals. Be SMART before you jump into that boat! Attend the SMART Marriage Conference July 2-5 (Wed.-Sat.) in San Francisco.

Thursday's Keynote Speaker will be Dr. John Van Epp. In "Waiting to Marry" he will present his step-by-step GPS system for approaching courtship in ways that help create a successful marriage. In addition to the keynote, Dr. Van Epp will present a seminar on Saturday afternoon, followed by a daylong training institute in his MARRIAGE LINKS program on Sunday.

The Saturday seminar features Van Epp's Teach-Out-of-the-Box (TOOB) program, "How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk."

The registration fee to attend the full three days of the conference is $365 ($355 if you register on line). However, there are a variety of special attendance options, including group discounts – and anyone may attend one of the 18 individual seminars on Saturday, July 5, 4-5:30 p.m., for just $15. Be sure to let friends and family in the Bay Area know!

Special Offer

The Northern California United Methodist Healthy Marriage Project is offering scholarships of $100 or more, available on a first come/first served basis to pastors or lay leaders who wish to attend. Healthy Marriage Project hopes that at least one person from each of the seven districts in the Cal-Nevada Conference will be able to participate.
