The Spiritual Image seeks bookings to fund trip to General Conference

March 14, 2008

“Music is well said to be the speech of angels; in fact, nothing among the utterances allowed to man is felt to be so divine. It brings us near to the infinite.” - Thomas Carlyle.

The quote is an unofficial credo of The Spiritual Image, a non-profit Filipino musical show choir of South Hayward UMC, which seeks to proclaim the word of the Lord through song and dance while raising awareness for in-need churches and church-related organizations.

From humble beginnings as a small group doing small performances in November, 1993 The Spiritual Image has blossomed into a musical powerhouse that has performed for thousands of people in dozens of venues (to benefit various causes) and tours internationally. There are more than 25 active members, including youth and young adults. However, despite fundraising and solid community support, members many times must put their own money toward their missions.

The Spiritual Image is scheduled to perform at General Conference in Fort Worth, Texas April 23-May 2, with follow-up concerts in Dallas and in Wichita, Kansas – and requests your support. “Please invite The Spiritual Image to your churches to do fundraising concerts for this trip,” the group asks.
