February 21, 2008

“Care for God’s Creation” presents “The Breath of Life,” Saturday, May 3 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Newman Center, and 5th and C Streets in Davis, California.

The California-Nevada Conference Board of Church and Society has provided a grant in support of this fourth biennial interfaith gathering, described as an afternoon “to explore and celebrate the element of air as seen in the traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.”

Dr. Thomas Cahill, Professor Emeritus, Department of Applied Sciences at the University of California at Davis and Newman Center member, will give the keynote address. He has undertaken more than 30 years of research into air quality, from the Sierra Nevada/Lake Tahoe region to Ground Zero following 9/11.

Other participants include United Methodist Elder, The Rev. Patty Rominger; Elaine Fingerett of Congregation Bet Haverim; and Dr. Atif Wardany of the Salaam Islamic Center.
