Missionary to Israel-Palestine in area to speak to churches

GBGM missionary Janet Lahr Lewis, who serves in Israel-Palestine, will be in our conference Oct. 20-28 by invitation of our Israel-Palestine Task Force. Janet Lahr Lewis is a missionary with the Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church serving as liaison between ecumenical groups and Israel and Palestine, as coordinator of Friends of Sabeel-International at the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center in Jerusalem. Janet is the main contact for VIM teams and United Methodist visitors who wish to follow the recommendation of the General Conference to spend a significant amount of time in the area with local Christians, acting to make those connections with UMC partner organizations and Advance Projects.

Saturday, Oct. 20               All-Conference Event, daytime, at Walnut Creek UMC

Sunday, Oct. 21                 in Sunday morning worship at Buena Vista, Alameda

Monday, Oct. 22                 evening program at Petaluma UMC

Wednesday, Oct. 23            evening program at Central UMC, Stockton

Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24-25     in the Reno-Tahoe area

Saturday, Oct. 27, daytime event     at Trinity UMC, Chico

Sunday, Oct. 28                 in worship at Centennial UMC, Sacramento
