Claremont School of Theology seeks Dean of Student Life and Campus Pastor

The Dean of Student Life and Campus Pastor is responsible for providing leadership and resources for the continuity of an hospitable, healthy and spiritually-rich environment for the student community at Claremont School of Theology. This person will provide counsel to the administration on issues pertinent to student and community health and well-being, offer pastoral care when needed, work to support the academic program, work cooperatively with student and faculty committees and councils to provide worship activities for the entire community, and in all things work to advance the school's mission of preparing educated and faithful leaders for the church, society, and higher education.


The qualified candidate will have an M.Div. degree or its equivalent. An ordained member in good standing – or seeking ordination – in his/her denomination is preferred. Persons with pastoral experience and/or student ministry (or student services) experience are encouraged to apply. Persons holding advanced theological degrees (D.Min., Ph.D., Th.D.) are encouraged to apply. As Claremont School of Theology is an ecumenical graduate theological school of The United Methodist Church, there is particular interest in United Methodist candidates, but experienced persons of any Christian tradition will be considered for this post.
