Magic Food at Genesis UMC

October 15, 2013

On October 10, Genesis UMC of Milpitas, CA hosted a free luau known as "Magic Food" for the Milpitas High School (MHS) Varsity & Junior Varsity Football teams, coaches, parents and cheer squad. Over 250 attendees from the high school attended and enjoyed a live band, delicious food, and entertainment. Players and coaches not only watched a Polynesian show case, but also learned a few moves as well.
"We are so blessed to have this new building and we are using it now to make Genesis known in this community. We have only been in this building since Easter Sunday of this year. Because of this blessing we are now using this building for district meetings, conference training, and community outreach," said the Rev. Sifa Hingano. This luau is something that church hosted to encourage the MHS students to be good citizens of their school. No sermon was preached just free food, positive vibes, dancing and lots of laughing.
Sandy Scrempos, whose son, Jason Scrempos plays on the varsity team, says, "I am deeply touched by the love, generosity, and support from you and the members of Genesis UMC."
