Launchpad in San Jose

The 2014 Launchpad: Helping New Churches Launch Well training event in the Western Jurisdiction was held at First United Methodist Church in San Jose, CA. The training focused on the first five seasons of a church plant: Discerning, Visioning, Gathering, Discipling and Worshipping. Path 1 Staff, Paul Nixon led the English session, and Sam Rodriguez, facilitated the Spanish session, with the Rev. Dr. Bener Agtarap, Conference Superintendent for Congregational Vitality, California-Nevada Annual Conference served as event coordinator.
Church planting teams and leaders who participated at this event were from the California-Pacific, Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain, Desert Southwest, Oregon-Idaho, Dakotas and California-Nevada Annual Conference with the largest number of 30 delegates.
The California-Nevada Annual Conference has kicked-off seven new church or faith community projects this year within the bounds of the conference area. They are: Trinity UMC Restart in Mountain View, New Korean UMC in Mountain View, Fresca Expression in Fresno, River Valley Christian Fellowship in West Sacramento, Heavenly Grace in Millbrae, S.E.E.D. Ministry of New Creation UMC in Campbell, and Elko Multi-site in Elko, Nevada.
