Filipino American Ministries Pasasalamat Experience in Central Valley

September 05, 2014

The Filipino American Ministries will hold a Pasasalamat event on September 19 and 20 at Clovis Memorial United Methodist Church. Activities will involve a 2k walk, a 5k run, and a 10k bike run to benefit “Imagine no Malaria.” The highlight of the event is the sharing and preaching of the Rev. Debra Brady, Superintendent of the Central Valley District.
While ‘Pasasalamat” is loosely translated giving thanks, it entails much more profoundly, in the mind of the design team, a way of life deeply rooted in Wesleyan heritage  that sees faith as engagement in the world, for the glory of God.
That is why Pasasalamat events are each a conscious effort  to connect with, and reach out to, Filipinos in the area, to make disciples of them  to transform the world.  The event is also an effort to develop creative ways to reach out to people – Filipinos and others, thus making the church’s ministries much richer, and peoples’ lives transformed by grace.
