Explore Your Calling in Church Planting

August 27, 2014

The purpose of starting a new church or faith community is to make disciples of Jesus Christ that will become agents of God’s mission for the transformation of the world. Creating new places for new people is a significant enterprise, requiring a great deal of discernment and preparation on the part of the potential church planter.

If you feel that you may be called to church planting, or simply wondering what’s next for you, we invite you to join us at the “Calling to Plant” orientation event. It will be held at the UMC Conference Center, 1276 Halyard Avenue, West Sacramento, CA on September 27, 2014, from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. No registration fee is required.

This gathering is one step in a process that may lead you to find your calling to be a church planter, to serve a new church as planting member, or to support church planting initiative in your Circuit in other ways.

Topics will include Why Plant New Churches or Faith Communities, Some Traits of High-Potential Church Planters, and Next Church Planting Opportunities In Our Conference Area. Also, we will also hear great stories or testimonies from some of our active church planters.

Deadline to register is September 19, 2014.
