December 21, 2015

Monday, December 21, 2015 at 6:00 pm Outdoors in front of San Jose City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose The second annual Homeless Persons' Interfaith Memorial Service, organized by Rev. Andrew Bear (ATEM), will feature leaders from Silicon Valley's diverse religious traditions (Buddhist, Jain, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Wiccan, Unitarian, Jewish, Protestant and Catholic). We will share prayers, readings, songs, and chants, light candles, and read the names of the 61 homeless sisters and brothers who died homeless in our community this past year. Members of the homeless community will offer their reflections. Prior to the service, from 4:00-6:00 pm, there will be a sleeping bag and blanket distribution across the street at San Jose First United Methodist Church. Join us in building a more compassionate society.
