CLayM Cambodian Class

The Conference Lay Minister, or CLayM training, for the Cambodian United Methodist community of the California-Nevada Conference will start at the beginning of November and will run through the end of March.  The cost is $200. The class is mostly self-directed with the majority of work to be done at home. There are four day long meetings on the first Saturday of each month at Bayside Cambodian UMC in Alameda. There are also two mandatory retreats in February and April. The informational meeting is on October 17.
 
Class schedule is as follows:

  • Oct 17th - Informational Meeting, Santa Clara UMC, 1700 Lincoln, Santa Clara, 10 a.m. to noon;  
  • Nov 7 - Kick Off Meeting - All participants must attend, Bayside Cambodian UMC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
  • Dec. 5 - All participants meeting, Bayside Cambodian UMC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
  • Jan 8- 9: Mandatory Retreat, starts at noon on Friday, ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday.  Location to be determined;
  • Feb 6 - All participants must attend, Bayside Cambodian UMC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
  • March 5 - All participants must attend, Bayside Cambodian UMC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
  • April 1-2 - Mandatory Retreat, starts at noon on Friday, ends at 6 p.m.on Saturday.  Location: Kings Beach UMC, Lake Tahoe.  To be confirmed.  Free for all participants.
