Designing Convergent Worship in the 21st Century Workshop September 26, 2015

July 17, 2015

The California-Nevada Chapter of The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts (FUMMWA) presents "Designing Convergent Worship in Creative Ways" with teacher, worship coach, and author, Rev. Mary J. Scifres at Centennial United Methodist Church, Sacramento on Saturday, September 26, 2016 from 9:00am-3:00pm. Rev. Mary J. Scifres is a United Methodist pastor and Abingdon Press author. For more than twenty years she has been a national consultant, preacher, teacher, and coach in worship, visioning, leadership and church growth. Having served churches across the nation, Mary brings a broad perspective and diverse understanding of both church and culture into her passion for creative worship. This workshop should be valuable for both clergy and lay members who work in the worship area of our churches. Explore this new, creative possibility for "convergent worship" as we merge and integrate styles and ideas from "emergent worship" with "traditional" and contemporary worship. Rather than seeing these new expressions of worship as one more program or worship style to add to our local church schedules, Mary Scifres invites us to integrate the possibilities for multisensory, participatory, communal spiritual disciplines into our current worship. Registration is $35 and includes morning coffee, snacks, and lunch. For a copy of the registration form, please contact Andrew Davis at or Cindy Sabatini at
