LAUNCHPAD - Training for New Churches
LAUNCHPAD – Training for New Churches will take place from September 19 to 21 at First UMC San Jose, 24 North 5th Street, San Jose, CA.
LAUNCHPAD is a three-day training event for leaders and teams planting new faith communities. This training experience will guide planters and their teams as they sketch out ministry plans for the next nine months. Subjects covered will include theology and call, affinity groups, vision-casting, best practices, community networking, bonding with the mission field, fundraising and leading effective meetings one-on-one or with a group.
This summer celebrates the fourth year of Launchpad, marked by a major update of the content reflecting 2013 Path 1 road trip interviews with hundreds of church planting leaders across the USA. Presenters include Paul Nixon, Sam Rodrigues and Emily Reece along with other church planters from the Western Jurisdiction.
Cost is $95 for the planter leader, $110 for the planter and spouse, and $75 per person for all additional team members (up to 4 per project), plus the cost of travel, lodging and some meals. Deadline for registration is Friday, September 5. There are several area hotels: Arena Hotel, San Jose Downtown Ramada, The Fairmont by Sheraton, The Sainte Claire hotel, Hilton – San Jose and Marriott. See hotel links at www.path1.org.
