Engaging Cross-Cultural Conflict-June 17 in Burlingame

"Building the Beloved Community Through Engaging Cross-Cultural Conflict" is workshop offered by i-Relate (.75CEUs) for clergy who have taken the basic cultural competency workshop being held on Tuesday, June 17 at Burlingame UMC from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Leadership the workshop are the Rev. Sun Hee Kim, Dr. Shan McSpadden, and Rev. Dr. Hubert Ivery.
 
The workshop builds on the basic models and tools offered in the first level cultural competency CEU workshop, this “hands on” workshop will provide:
-        Independent reflection on your own values and your conflict management style;
-        Real life case studies;
-        Role plays;
-        Experiential exercises;
-        Small group discussions;
-        Specific skills and strategies;
-        Cultural and racial life experiences which can inform conflict; and,
-        Scriptural guidance.
 
Participants will assess their own style of conflict management by taking the Cultural Styles Inventory and plan ways to use the style effectively.
 
The cost is $90 which covers registration, the fee for the Cultural Styles Inventory, all meals and snacks, and resource materials.  The registration deadline is June 13 (Must have at least 12 participants registered or workshop will be cancelled).
