Hispanic-Latino Consultation

The Hispanic-Latino Ministries of the California-Nevada Annual Conference and Congregational Vitality gathered in West Sacramento at the Conference Center on Saturday, May 17, for planning and to resource local churches and ministries. The event involved the participation of 14 churches: Vida Nueva Porterville, Pastor Marcelo Escarzaga; Visalia UMC; Watsonville First UMC, Pastor Robin Matthews Johnson; La Trinidad UMC San Jose; Campbell New Creation UMC Pastor Alex Hardt; Trinity UMC Bakersfield, Pastor Gabriela Perla; Wasco UMC, Pastor Alexis Cambe and Pastor Gabriela Perla; Hollister UMC, Pastor Martha Milk; Greenfield UMC, Soledad UMC, East Salinas Family Center, Pastor Ines Lugo; Salem UMC, Pastor Aura Lila Ochoa; Emanuel UMC, Pastor Jola Bortner and Fresno Sierra Vista UMC, Pastor Juan Saavedra. Each church brought lay leaders for a total of 29 lay leaders and four children. The Central Valley District Superintendent, the Rev. Mariellen Yoshino, Conference Superintendent for Congregational Vitality, the Rev. Dr. Bener Agtarap, General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) Missionary, the Rev. Brenda Vaca and  Manuel Padilla is a missionary of GBGM serving as a missionary for strategy and ministry of the National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry in the United States led the event.
