Conference Committee on Reconciliation AC 2015 luncheon

May 21, 2015

“Why is the UMC so out of touch with society?” is the topic for this year’s Conference Committee on Reconciliation (CCOR) luncheon. The CCOR luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 18th at Burlingame UMC (1443 Howard Avenue Burlingame CA 94010) from 12 noon to 1:30. The $15 cost for lunch (sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink) will benefit Burlingame UMC’s ongoing ministries.   This year’s program will focus on updates on the Reconciliation movement in the United Methodist Church, including the 2016 General Conference, the Connectional Table Resolution and more.  A panel will include: Rev. Dr. Israel Alvaran, Western Regional Organizer for RMN; Rev. John Oda, Chair of the National RMN Board, and others to be confirmed. CCOR will also present its Turtle Award, which goes to a person who has stuck their “neck” out on behalf of the reconciling movement. For more information, please stop by the CCOR table at Annual Conference to sign up for the luncheon and check out our Shower of Stoles display.  While you are there make a donation to support the reconciling work and take home something special: laity stoles, clergy rainbow stoles, T-shirts, rainbow crosses, rainbow leis and other goodies.  You can also pickup a “Travel/lodging Scholarship” application for the 2015 RMN Convocation in San Antonio (August 6-9), called “Gather at the River”. For more information or if you plan to go directly to Burlingame UMC please e-mail your lunch reservations or questions to Rev. John Oda
