Commission on Equitable Compensation
The Discipline (2008) of The United Methodist Church specifies in ¶ 625.1 that "There shall be in each annual conference a commission on equitable compensation . . . composed of an equal number of lay and clergypersons . . . In addition, one district superintendent named by the cabinet shall be a member." See further subparts to ¶ 625 for additional provisions of the Discipline regarding equitable compensation. The Conference standing rules that address equitable compensation are in Division VII.

For a copy of the application for minimum compensation assistance, please contact the administrative assistant to your district superintendent. For churches without a pastoral change, the deadline is May 1 for submission to Dina Stenwick of the assistance application for the upcoming appointment year. In order for the application to be complete, it must be signed by the district superintendent.
